Now here's a fad stranger than most:
Bad Japanese video game translations entangled in pop-culture.

um...ok... maybe you won't find it all that funny, but... give it time. Slowly, you'll find its darn amusing.
The premise comes from a poorly translated Japanese video game in which the dialog during the intro sequence was so atrocious, that it has become a catch phrase on the net - All your base are belong to us.

People have been inserting this phrase, among others, into various photos. In the "olden days" we used to copy/paste celebrity heads onto nude bodies. The new millennium has raised the bar on acceptable levels of copy/pasting. No longer can we nonchalantly paste Calista Flockhart's head onto Crystal Wilder's body in a luscious, "Ally meets the porn industry" photo extravaganza.

These days we are expected to intricately and delicately intertwine oddly translated video game phrases into clever digital art. I've always felt like an irreverent bastard and never followed the pack, but I find myself helpless to resist the allure of All Your Base. My only justification is my lust for Tank Girl and integrating a bit of Tanky with the Base.
